The Flamenco Guitar of Yerai Cortés

C. In collaboration with Oslo World, Escena – Ibero-American Film Days, Tilde Film Club, and Oslo Flamenco Festival, the documentary The Flamenco Guitar of Yeraí Cortes will be screened. Before the film, there will be a conversation with Yerai Cortés, moderated by Bellali Austria, director of Oslo International Flamenco Festival.

C. Tangana’s (Antón Álvarez) critically acclaimed documentary about Spanish guitarist Yerai Cortés tells a story where the power of music intertwines with the weight of a family secret that must be brought to light. While recording an album, the protagonist is forced to confront his family's hidden truths.

Despite his youth, Yerai Cortés has already established himself as a major name in flamenco. In addition to bringing something irresistibly new to the genre, his music radiates a maturity rare for such a young talent. His breakthrough came with his debut album, La guitarra flamenca de Yerai Cortés (The Flamenco Guitar of Yerai Cortés), and was further bolstered by the success of the film of the same name directed by Antón Álvarez (C. Tangana), which won Goya Awards for Best Documentary and Best Song in 2025. That same year, he received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
