Kristian Pedersen - Poetry Cinema

Director and designer Kristian Pedersen, known for his striking fusion of literature, poetry and visual art, will present his own work through a retrospective of shorts and a poetry animation mini-masterclass.
Biography:
Kristian is know for his visual and graphic play with shape, form and fonts, exploring how text, poetry and feeling can translate to a visual language.
In collaboration with editor and publisher Audun Lindholm, he created the acclaimed poetry film series Gasspedal Animert, a unique meeting point between literature and animated graphics. Across his body of work, Pedersen has developed a distinctive visual signature and narrative style, with films screened at international festivals for film, animation, literature, and poetry.
He was awarded the Goethe-Institut’s Film Prize at the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival in Berlin in 2014. In 2016, his short film Bøygen (The Boyg) premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and in 2018, he released Little Boy, a haunting short film about the bombing of Hiroshima. The film premiered at the Hiroshima Animation Festival and received an honorable mention at the Fredrikstad Animation Festival.
Pedersen’s latest work, Faen i helvete (God Damn it), continues his exploration of poetic form through animation.
