Regissørduoen bak BROKEN ENGLISH stod tidligere bak Nick Cave-filmen 20,000 DAYS ON EARTH. Resultatet er en unik hyllest til Marianne Faithfull, som gikk bort i januar i fjor.

Faithfull was an «it girl» in the 60s and was often referred to as Mick Jagger's girlfriend. But she was so much more: a pop artist, a folk singer, a new wave icon, a drug addict, and a women's rights activist. This multifaceted life is explored by Faithfull herself in this documentary, with help from Tilda Swinton, Nick Cave, and George MacKay.

The directing duo behind BROKEN ENGLISH previously made the Nick Cave film 20,000 DAYS ON EARTH. In similar ways, it uses different genres and techniques to tell the story of the icon in a way rarely seen in music documentaries. The result is a unique celebration of Marianne Faithfull, who passed away in January last year.
