Ikoniske Inferno Metal Festival startet i 2001 – og er den lengst levende metal-festivalen i Norge – og en av de viktigste ekstremmetallfestivalene i verden. Det er en sterk posisjonen og festivalen fortsetter å fronte norsk metal og ta inn band fra hele verden til Norge. Inferno Metal Festival arrangeres fire dager på Rockefellers to scener; Rockefeller og John Dee – samt mange mindre klubber rundt i Oslo. Festivalen finner sted i påsken når det ikke skjer så mye annet i Oslo. Festivalen er vanligvis utsolgt og mer enn femti prosent av publikummet er fra utlandet. Billettsalget går til hele verden, inkludert Kina, Australia, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, USA, Columbia, Argentina og mange flere.

Fra Royal Albert Hall og amfiteateret i Pompeii til Blackfeet Nation-stammens hjemland, og videre gjennom Australia, New Zealand og videre, viser den relasjonene, den felles historien og tilliten som er bygget opp underveis – og avslører ulike bakgrunner og det felles grunnlaget som binder bandet og crewet sammen.

Gjennom eksklusive intervjuer og behind-the-scenes gir filmen innblikk i Wardrunasarbeidsprosess, verdier og hva som gjør prosjektet unikt, og følger veien fra hulen i Norge ut i verden, og til det punktet hvor Wardruna nå går inn i en periode med dvale.

Following Wardruna on their most recent European shows, this documentary traces the band’s journey through the Birna album cycle and the past 1.5 years of the World Tour. The film will be shown in collaboration with Inferno Metal Festival 2026, which takes place April 2-5.

The iconic Inferno Metal Festival started in 2001 – and is the longest-running metal festival in Norway – and one of the most important extreme metal festivals in the world. It is a strong position and the festival will continue to promote Norwegian metal and bring bands from all over the world to Norway. The Inferno Metal Festival takes place for four days on Rockefeller’s two stages; Rockefeller and John Dee – as well as many smaller clubs around Oslo. The festival takes place during Easter when there isn’t much else happening in Oslo. The festival is usually sold out and more than fifty percent of the audience is from abroad. Ticket sales go to the whole world, including China, Australia, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, the USA, Colombia, Argentina, and many more.
